Google Bomb Threat Neutralized

Everyone has heard of the common Google Bomb effect where a ton of websites linked to George Bush’s biography using the anchor text “Miserable Failure”. Well Google has announced that the Google algorithm has been modified to prevent such pranks.

Now if you check Google’s SERP’s for Miserable Failure, George Bush’s biography doesn’t come in the top. Google claims that they have not done modifications by hand and it is done by their algorithm, but you never know!

Danny Sullivan uploaded the following image to show the comparison between the top results before/after their algorithm change:

If Google has found an automated (algorithmic) way to solve this problem, it must involve watching the number of links that get added over time. If an “unnatural” pattern occurs — gazillions of links with the same anchor text appearing in a short space of time — they treat this as a Googlebomb.
