Google seems to be releasing a new service meant to target offline marketing for their advertisers - Audio Ads. Marshall M. found this by simply searching on Google Search for “audio ads”.
From the looks of their Audio Ads page, it looks like Google is targetting radio advertising, instead of online streaming radio stations. Here is what they plan on accomplishing:
- Select from hundreds of radio stations across the U.S. to run your audio ads
- Target your customers by station type, demographics, and time of day
- View online reports that show you when and where your ad played
- Listen to real-time recordings of your ads as they were played on the radio
I wouldn’t mind getting advertisements out on the radio, except it won’t really be offering much to the SEO industry, since there aren’t any webmaster radio stations I know off (except WebmasterRadio.fm, but they are an online radio station). It would seem more appealing to forum owners and other webmasters who promote sites that the average man (or child) wouldn’t mind visiting.
This just brings me to the other methods of offline marketing that Google is starting to implement, like their TV Advertising and Print Ads programs (which are still not released to everyone).
