Death in Google and gMail (Free gMail Invites)

gMail LogoWell we all know that Google is known well for their little tweaks in services to help adjust to the user. Well now we know that Google is also doing the same for gMail, Google’s famous E-Mail Program. Just like every other E-Mail Service (Hotmail and Yahoo! E-Mail), gMail is made to gain a good amount of profit by displaying advertisements. However, gMail has been tweaked by the creators to help show a little ounce of sympathy when sending an E-Mail with certain exceptions.

Firstly, you will need to have a gMail Account and since it’s invitation only, you can comment here asking for an invite, we will gladly send you one using the supplied E-Mail Address. Check your inbox for any E-Mails and click on an E-Mail which does NOT contain the keyword “death”. As you can see in the thumbnail below, Google will display advertisements in the bottom right corner of the E-Mail:

gMail Advertisments

However, if you recieve an E-Mail with the keyword “Death” located inside the E-Mail, gMail will not display any ads. They might be doing this to show sympathy just in case the E-Mail contained news of a death in the family or such. View the thumbnail below to see an E-Mail containing “Death” in gMail:

Death in gMail

However, if someone made a search for anything with the keyword “death” in Google, advertisements will show up. This kind of means that if someone in the family died, they wouldn’t be searching for “Death” in Google instead of mourning!

UPDATE: If your comment appears below and you asked for a gMail Invite, that means we have already sent you an invite. since we moderate all our comments.

Very interesting find. Just another way that Google is working to make people happy.

If you could send an invite, it would be most appreciated. I would like to try this out for myself

How is this any consideration? Perhaps they don’t have sponsored links for the keyword “death”

nbit, I undestand what you’re saying. But they are basically showing the same sponsored links that they would in Google Search and if you search for just the keyword “Death” tons of sponsored links will come up on the right.
