Holy Spam

Well I was away working on some of my projects for the last month or so and now I’ve come back to blogging and posting on forums on a regular basis.

But the first thing I notice as soon as I get back is the amount of spam comments I got on my comment moderation. I spent a couple minutes marking most of them as spam.

What I don’t understand is, how do people expect to profit from spam? They simply dump their links and make a comment on blog posts. Any 5-year old child would notice that it isn’t a useful comment and would end up deleting the comment.

If they made a comment which was disguised as spam, more blog owners would approve it. But, if they actually found blog posts related to their website and made a useful comment, imaging how much more links they would get!
