Neil Patel has put up an article which goes over the basics of “Digg Promotion” in depth.
From reading his article, it looks like gaming Digg would have to be taken with more of a psychological approach. Basically “Think like a kid to get diggs from a kid”.
From the looks of it, if you self-promote yourself by submitting your own blog post (if you have the same username displayed), it is frowned upon and they will usually bury your digg in a matter of seconds. So if you want to submit your own stories to Digg, sign up with a different user name so they can’t see the resemblance.
Over the years a good amount of SEO’s have come to try and harness the power and skill of gaming Digg for it’s quality traffic, registrations and permanent links established over time. So Neil suggests that you submit stories with “Google” or “Yahoo!” instead of SEO.
He has a few other good tips on his article, so check it out!
