Digg seems to have been talking with numerous potential buyers to sell Digg for as much as $150 million. News Corp. seems to be the corporation which pushed Digg into thinking of selling. They opened the playing field for all buyers at the moment.
During the commotion, a small controversy came up. Digg claimed they had well over 20 million unique visitors on a monthly basis. However, this image of Comscore traffic tracking appeared:
According to other users, Comscore is infamous for not reporting stats anywhere near an accurate number, a bit similar to Alexa. In addition, Comscore only applies to U.S. households, so the rate would have to be lower.
We can only see what happens over the next week or two.

Those who opposed digg spam were banned along with the spammers. The only way to stay in there was to shut up. Not a great business model.
