If any of you visit Digg on a weekly or monthly basis, like me, I would suggest that you head on over to Digg and check out their new layout!
I personally thought the old layout was fine, but this new layout adds a bit of color and sleekness to the Digg Design. I also noticed the fact that there are a bit more advertisements on the website. They also place a few other important components, like the bookmark link and the submit links, in some prime spots. They also placed a list of the top 10 diggs for a category on the right corner, if you’re a member!
In fact here are a couple of the changes I noticed in ad positioning:
It looks like they made these changes so that the advertisements would be seen without scrolling down. I also noticed that they now have three main categories:
- News
- Videos (basically YouTube Promotion)
- Podcasts (BETA)
I think that their new category on Podcasts is unique and will probably be a success, but you never know!
