Ok, so you’ve got the ball rolling, and people are talking about you. You’ve gotten in a few newspapers, and been on the radio. You are now yesterday’s news. So what do you do to make sure people keep talking about you?

At this point, you need to be giving people something as an extra. Remember the blog that we started? Well, that’s a great way to keep people’s interest. Especially if you’re doing something that has a deadline. That way you can keep interest by having the countdown.

Another great way is to bring new factors in to hook more people. If you’re promoting a book, you can talk about how once it’s in print in 23 days time, you’re going on a tour around bookshops to do signings, and list places that you’ll be. If you have a talent for public speaking, you can announce that once whatever you’re doing goes live, you’re going to be going on a tour telling people how you’ve done it, and how they can copy you.

To keep the ball rolling, you have to do just one thing. Keep them interested. So look at what you’re doing, and see how you can put a new twist on it, and get more people in to what you’re doing. With any niche, there’s an opportunity, and that opportunity will most definitely NOT be limited to whatever you’re doing right now. Look for new ideas - they’ll be out there, I can promise you that.

If you’re really stuck, start looking at what people have done in the past. I’m a great believer in referencing other people’s work for ideas. I have a folder full of press releases that I take parts of. I have another full of adverts and long copy sales press. Make use of everything you can.
