A lot of people have been using AdBrite because they believe that they are in control of their advertisements. Well I recently started using AdVolcano and I have to say that I like what I see!

AdVolcano will accept any website you own. They are thinking of using PayPal as a payment method for publishers in the near future. Similar to AdBrite, you get to set your own prices and you get to choose how long an advertisement lasts and you also get to choose which advertisements you want to have displayed on your website.

Their directory needs to be a bit more organized, but they have a nice array of categories covering most topics. Unlike AdBrite, the advertisements are seen as regular content on a website because it comprises of a simple link and a description and isn’t part of an advertisement banner/skyscraper/button.

The only downside is the fact that AdVolcano will receive a 25% cut from whatever sales you make. There is no network advertisement network either, but I don’t really mind that. Since they are fairly new, you can easily find a good amount of quality sites (like Dave Naylor’s blog for example).

I’ve already received a few orders on some of my websites.
