Since this is an SEO Blog, I thought it would only be fair if I actually talked about the one person who made this all possible by inventing Search Engine Optmization - Dave Pasternack. Dave Pasternack was the first to discover the potential of Search Engine Marketing by optimizing your websites for Search Engines.

Discovering this untapped potential in Search Engines, Dave Pasternack went ahead and created a company (with Kevin Lee) in 1996 that offers Search Marketing services to websites looking to rank in Search Engines - Did-It Search Marketing. Many others started realizing the potential of this discovery and that’s how Search Marketing was invented, with competitors in every search engine marketing field competing, the industry is more fierce and experienced than ever.

Now before Dave Pasternack founded the first Search Marketing company, he did many other great things on the net. He was the founder of the United States Information Corporation, which is the largest electronic publishers of the Federal Government bidding and contract information in the United States.

Dave Pasternack’s first company was Logicsoft Inc. which was a software consultation company (that still exists) which range from various areas:

• mobile wireless communications
• data warehouses
• supply chain management
• inventory management
• customer management

Now being the grandfather of SEM Dave Pasternack is also a self-proclaimed SEO Specialist in this time as well, which is seen in his response to a question in an interview Dave Pasternack had with himself:

Question: Last week, Danny Sullivan went on record with the statement that “SEO is rocket science.” Would you care to comment on this?

Dave Pasternack’s Answer: To be fair, Danny Sullivan said that anything is rocket science if you don’t understand it. Well I don’t know how to bake a cake, but I wouldn’t call such a task “rocket science.” If I really wanted to bake one, I’d buy a cookbook (the Google guidelines) and bake away. Can you imagine bake shops trying to convince everybody that baking a cake is so complicated that it shouldn’t be left to mere mortals? Ridiculous. I wonder what percentage of Danny’s show attendees are there to find the “magic SEO elixir.” I would guess a very high percentage. I suppose we all have to cater to our audience.
