Google’s Security Hole Caused by Cookies

Please note this security issue has already been fixed by Google.

I thought this was odd that Google had a security hole due to the amount of cookie’s their users store on the computers. It seems that if someone wanted, they could trick gMail users into visiting a page on Google (I’m guessing a page on GooglePages) and grab all those cookies.

JavaScript Security Hole

Google Blogoscoped shows that using JavaScript you can show the latest visited. This is a problem with browsers which use JavaScript to which checks out the link style attributes and a code can figure out which URL’s you visited last!

Check out this example which displays a couple of the latest pages you visited (in FireFox and Internet Explorer).

gMail LogoWell earlier this month, Google found out that their gMail Service, gMail, had a security flaw which could have let a hacker gather the E-Mail Addresses in another gMail Account and might even let them hack and access the account! They acted quickly on fixing the problem in around 3 hours as soon as a 14 year old, Anthony, had posted the flaw in his blog.
