Ask.com on Treasure Hunters?
Ask.com has been renovating during the past year and working to bring in more users to use the Ask.com Search Engine. However, Google Blogoscoped showed that they had a small unique feature which differentiated them from other Search Engines.
They are explaining internet lingo to their visitors (when you search on Google, Yahoo or MSN for such examples, you get a blank page):

stands for winking and Ask.com explains it perfectly together with other smilies as well! A good resource for people who are new the internet!
Well Jake (a reader of Google BlogoScoped), had a simple idea of checking the W3C Markup Validation of the top Search Engines out there:
- MSN – Passed!
- Altavista – Failed, 38 errors
- Yahoo – Failed, 41 errors
- Google – Failed, 61 errors
- Ask.com – Failed, 64 errors
- Dogpile – Failed, 70 errors
It was a unique idea in it’s own sort of way, which shows which Search Engines (no matter how big they are) follow simple W3C Validation.
There are tons of websites which offer free desktop wallpapers and usually require you to download a program with a virus. The experienced web users can pick this out in a second, but Google obviously can’t! That’s why Scandoo (owned by ScanSafe) comes out and identifies it for you!
