I know this may be a bit late, but DMOZ/ODP editing has been opened up for those who want to submit their links to the directory. They were down for well over 2 months due to server problems in the AOL Datacenter and didn’t allow new submissions at all.
Well over the months, they were able to put together missing data and recompile their directory. Last week, they opened up submissions after the tragic event. But the kicker is that they lost all links which were submitted to them during the downtime. Their queue’s were empty for a while. Even though it’s only been a few days, head on over to DMOZ and submit your link. You might get lucky and be accepted!
DMOZ was one of the biggest directories out there. They were promoted heavily and they built up their name so well that webmasters considered it a true honor to be accepted in the DMOZ directory (as well as the SEO Benefits). But it was baffling when the owner of DMOZ decided to put up a post which acknowledged the views other people had about DMOZ (V7N & SEO Speedwagon).
