PayPerPost - Making Revenue for the Average Blogger

I have been blogging for quite some time now and advertisements like Chitika and Google AdSense are never enough to pay the bill, even though they seem like great services to me! When I was on Digg I saw a story talking about PayPerPost, I clicked it and was introduced to an amazing new service!

Overall it is similar to any other advertiser/publisher solution which gives advertisers a way to earn visitors and get their word out. It also gives publishers a good way to earn money (and sometimes even publish new content).

The unique part about this service is that it is in the blogging field. This field is so much more powerful than all the other advertisements out there.

Here are a couple of reasons why it is perfect for advertisers:

  • It is a set price for each blog post (which will last at least 30 days, usually bloggers don’t even remove it).
  • The blogosphere is like dominos and if a blogger sees a post talking about your topic on more than two blogs, they’ll blog it themself and get you some free attention!
  • Most internet users already know what Google advertisements look like and won’t click it, but a page (or post in this case) full of content will increase the click-through rate.
  • Google will follow the links (because they are plain hyperlinks) and give you some credit for it as well (this brings you back to the dominos thing and you can get even more links from one blog post)!
  • They get to choose the minimum word count for each blog post and approve the posts to get paid.

Now since I’m a blogger, here are a ton of reasons why it is so perfect for it:

  • Most opportunities are above $5.00 (there are a couple of premium ones you can catch if you’re a frequent poster) which means small blogs can earn more in one day using PayPerPost than any other PayPerClick (PPC) program.
  • Most opportunities basically provide you the entire blog post and only requires a bit of editing.
  • You get to serve new content for Google AND your visitors (if you’re a frequent blogger and all out of ideas, this is a good thing).
  • You get to choose which opportunities you want to take as well!

But I suggest bloggers don’t overdo it and fill their blog full of advertisement posts, then you would be defeating the purpose of even blogging. Try doing it once every 10 posts if the topic is relevant to your blog and once every 20 posts if the topic isn’t relevant to your blog.

You’d better jump on the wagon now and earn money before it’s filled with other bloggers after the same thing and advertisers get to lower their rates!

Thanks for digg’n my post re:PayPerPost!

I like how you described the win-win proposition for advertisers and bloggers (although, most PPP ad opportunities provide a pretty basic topic description and ask the blogger to apply their own creativity/content). A third winner I’ve noticed in my research is the reader, as PPP bloggers get more disciplined about blogging regularly and have an easy, rich topic bank at their fingertips — quality and quantity often rise when a new media finds its sustainable revenue model. I’ve also seen bloggers replacing AdSense, banners and other aesthetically-challenged platforms with PayPerPost — another win for readers/viewers.

Even though I compared the elite and mainstream bloggers in my post, I believe there is another, even larger group of CGM participants that will become regular contributors when a win-win-win revenue model exists. We shall see if PPP is that model, and if so, look out.

Nice blog — keep it coming!

Thanks for the comment, I guess Digg thought my article was unrelated and removed my comment!

Your digg should have reached first page by now, PayPerPost is an awesome service in my opinion!

Hi, this is a very intersting article and I believe for some bloggers you are right this is a nice little earner. However, I am not so sure it is for everyone for myself i am a bit unsure. I think I will stick to adsense which I optimized using an optimize adsense guide this currently seems fine for me. But it is always nice learning about something nice. So thankyou for the post.

John - Yeah but what PayPerPost does will benefit both sides of the party while AdSense can hurt your visitors who might think that this site is full of ads and you might lose a couple of initial visitors..

John: although I’ve seen multiple PPPers replace AdSense with PPP, I don’t think they have to be mutually exclusive. There are plenty of PPPers doing both, just making significantly more with PPP than AdSense.

Best of luck in however you choose to pay the bills…
