Overnight I received an E-Mail from TextLinkAds informing me that they are BETA testing a new service called FeedVertising. He also asked that people don’t post this anywhere else. I believe someone did, because a few hours later Patrick Gaving sent another E-Mail informing users that they are now out of BETA and the service is in public!

The idea is simple and it requires that you use WordPress 2.0 or above. They want to give advertisers the chance to have their links placed at the bottom of your feeds.

If you are using FeedBurner, it still works since all you have to do is modify your WordPress feed and since FeedBurner grabs the posts from that feed, it will be placed on FeedBurner as well!

They have already included a little tutorial of Feedvertising on TubeTutorial.

If you are an existing customer, simply login to your account and go to Publisher Program and click on FeedVertising and update one of your websites. It will give you a new plugin, you will need to delete the old TLA Plugin (after de-activating it in your control panel) and upload the new TLA plugin.

A few big bloggers like TechCrunch have already inserted the plugin on their Feedburner Feed. At the moment of this post, their is an advertisement of Crunch Network underneath nearly every post.

This new service by TextLinkAds will definitely change the RSS Advertising field and the only competitor at the moment seems to be Chitika Shoplincs. However, Chitika Shoplincs is only accepting a few users, while TextLinkAds is open to the public! This service is definitely a good source of blogging revenue.
