Microsoft has just put up a patent on a new type of Search Ranking system for their MSN Search Engine called the Nested Search Rankings which William Slawski. Here is an overview on how it works:

  1. Takes your Search Query

  4. Pull the top 1,000 pages from the resulting pages

Sunday 3 September 2006 @ 11:03 pm

I can’t believe I missed this, but it seems that Google has invited Philipp Lensenn (owner of Google Blogoscoped, one of my favorite blogs!) to blog about a new book he put out, 55 Ways to Have Fun With Google (the official website is 55 Fun.com). It’s not something which is used to spam or trick Google, but simple funny things you could do with Google by supplying:

JavaScript Security Hole

Saturday 2 September 2006 @ 7:14 pm

Google Blogoscoped shows that using JavaScript you can show the latest visited. This is a problem with browsers which use JavaScript to which checks out the link style attributes and a code can figure out which URL’s you visited last!

Check out this example which displays a couple of the latest pages you visited (in FireFox and Internet Explorer).
